This is a link to a brief related article with an interesting angle: one of the five pastors is an immigrant from Viet Nam.

“If the 5 pastors used pulpits for politics, their sermons are fair game,” Parker tweeted.
Parker is Mayor Parker of Houston, Texas. Parker is openly homosexual. It is her basic premise that any opposition to the "bathroom bill"is discriminatory against her and her homosexuality. Her legal beagles have changed the word "sermons" in the subpoenas to "speeches" and believe that this clears them of tampering with the 1st Amendment. They are delusional.
The link is here.
A part of the homosexual agenda is to remove all opposition to their lifestyle by any and all means necessary. This is but a glaring example of that effort. She makes no pretense of it being anything else.
Optics are gone. The very core of America is being attacked - but some of us(clergy) knew this would happen. Like it or not, agree with it or not, it was religion and one's freedom to worship as he saw fit which drove much of the effort which forged this nation in it's beginning. Religion in America is the last pillar of Rightful Liberty to be assaulted by the Evil. There is no other hurdle to cross for them. It's quite possible that the 2nd shot heard around the world could stem from actions like this and those resultant from it.
Pray for the best while prepping for the worst.
Mark 13:9 "But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them."
A note on my emphasis: still unconvinced that pastors and Christians in general should be preparing for what's coming? It means simply to wake up and pay attention to what's going on around you. And from my perspective, prepare for the onslaught.
It's my prayer that these men do as the 300 did - stand shoulder to shoulder, their Shields tightly overlapping and take up a defensive posture against the assault - on one hand. On the other, their lawyers should be already preparing the necessary paperwork to sue each and every participant in this unConstitutional action. There must needs be a point to our spear. They could be that point. Now is the time to make a stand for religious Rightful Liberty.
